From Engine Company
to Espresso Company
Single-origin pour-overs and small-batch cocktails in a restored 1920s fire station — where the brick still remembers the sirens and the coffee remembers the craft.
A building with history.
A menu with intention.
Built in 1924 as a volunteer fire station on Eugene's west side, the Old Whiteaker Firehouse stood watch over a neighborhood that grew from streetcar suburbia to one of the city's most vibrant communities. The bricks, the arched bay doors, the original tile — they've all been preserved.
Today, the same space that once housed hose carts and a 1930s American LaFrance pumper now pours single-origin pour-overs in the morning and stirs small-batch cocktails in the evening. We don't restore buildings to put them behind glass. We restore them so they can live again.
Coffee, done the slow way
We source from Pacific Northwest roasters who treat each origin like a terroir — and pour every cup with the patience it deserves.
Pour-Over
Single-origin, hand-poured. Rotating selections from local roasters — Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, Colombian Huila, or Guatemala Antigua depending on the season.
V60 · Kalita Wave · ChemexEspresso Bar
Double-shot espresso pulled fresh — black, or dressed up as a flat white, cortado, or lavender honey latte. Our house blend is a medium-dark Ethiopian-Kenyan dual origin.
La Marzocca Linea · Mahlkönig E65SBatch Brew
Small-batch, always fresh. A rotating single-origin brewed in two-liter batches — never held on a warmer. Ask about today's selection.
Clever Dripper · 20-min bloomPastry & Bites
Fresh croissants from a local bakery, house-made granola, and seasonal savory tarts. Simple, honest food that pairs with the coffee.
Baked daily · Local suppliersWhen the pour-over
becomes the pour
At 5pm, the space shifts. The same marble counter that held espresso machines becomes a cocktail bar. Our spirits are locally sourced where possible — Willamette Valley botanicals, Oregon gin, Rogue Ales on tap — and our methods are old-school: shaken, not stirred; fresh-squeezed; house-made bitters and shrubs.
The menu changes with the seasons. What doesn't: the attention to detail and the habit of asking guests what they're in the mood for before writing a single order.

What people say
I've been coming here since they opened. The pour-over is genuinely some of the best coffee in Eugene — and the space is just special. You can feel the history in the walls.
Brought out-of-town friends here for dinner and drinks. The cocktail program is serious — not pretentious, just genuinely well-made. The smoked rosemary old fashioned is unforgettable.
Perfect spot to work during the day — great coffee, plenty of outlets, not too loud. At night it transforms into something totally different. Love that about this place.
